Moira McKechnie - Membership Manager
Moira loves to travel, so a career in tourism was a natural choice. With a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Tourism Management and Public Relations, Moira is currently studying Masters Business Administration (MBA). Working for a group of tourism companies, Moira mostly works for the comprehensive tourist information website DriveWA.com and for the travellers discount guide, WA Pass.
Moira joined the Young Australians Tourism Association executive committee in October 2003 as it relaunched and has been working to build and shape this vital association for young tourism professionals ever since. During her time on the YATA committee, Moira has held the positions of Curtin Student Representative, Marketing Coordinator and Vice Chair. She is now the Membership Manager and the go to person for any member-related enquiries.
Moira works to constantly improve membership benefits to ensure members get value for their time and money.

Catherine Swee - Membership Coordinator
Besides being YATA's Curtin Student Representative I am also YATA's membership coordinator. This position requires one to be very organised. This is why I was keen into getting insight and practice into becoming a more organised, precise and professional . All of which are helpful managerial skills to have especially in the tourism industry. I thought I was organised enough but I was wrong!
I have enjoyed the experience and I am still learning more. For example various computer skills, all of which was not attached to my univeristy degree! My greatest challenge since becoming YATA's membership coordinator was maintaining good orginisational management between YATA and at Uni. Areas such as our membership database has to be regularly updated, emails sent to new and renewed members and packages needed to be sent out to members individually. These areas have taught me greatly and I look forward to improving my managerial skills to our valuable YATA members!
